Our featured chocolate quote was found in the Choco-Story Chocolate Museum in Brugge and comes in three hilarious byte-size pieces from one Madame de Sevigne in 1671. Who she was we do not know, but she clearly had strong opinions about the popular hot drink: "If you are not well at all or have not slept, chocolate will revive you." Madame de Sevigne, February 11, 1671. "All who have spoken well of it have lied. Do not support it. It is no longer in fashion." Madame de Sevigne, April 15, 1671 "Take chocolate in order that even the most tiresome company seems acceptable to you." Madame de Sevigne, sometime in 1672 To this we say, "Go figure!" Other Chocolate Quotes "Liquidum non frangit jejunum." Translation from Latin to English: (Chocolate) liquids, amongst them, do not constitute a break in fasting.)" "I never met a chocolate I didn't like." "All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!" "Life is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get." "My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." "Eating chocolate can have significant influences on mood, generally leading to an increase in pleasant feelings and a reduction in tension." "So noble a confection, more than nectar & ambrosia, the true food of the gods." |
