Venice of the North

We've taken a couple of daytrips to Brugge and it really is as beautiful as the guidebooks describe. Horse-drawn carriages clip clop on the cobbled streets, throngs of tourists eat, drink and be merry at the local restaurants and bars, and countless lovers hold hands as they walk along Venice-like canals complete with boatloads of tourists.

Eventually, we'll provide more information about Brugge as we've done for Waterloo and Antwerp. Until then, enjoy some of our photos and see if you agree with the old proverb, 'a picture is worth a thousand words.'
